While visiting some friends in Texas over the holidays I was schooled in the art of the cocktail. I had been dying to try an Old Fashioned ever since I heard about them from the dreamy Don Draper. Note; if you haven’t jumped on the MAD MEN bandwagon yet, now is the time. And now is the time for me to beg the powers that be to please give me a part on that show because it is my dream! O.K. side note complete, like I was saying… soon visions of me and Don sipping Old Fashions’ in various dimly lit bars began to haunt my dreams. Luckily, our friend and true renaissance man, Richard Kattmann (husband of the lovely Lisa Kattmann) came to the rescue with his family’s secret recipe. After a few stiff ones in front of the Bissell’s roaring fire I was feeling quite festive. I have attached the recipe below. Enjoy but beware…one is never enough and three is far too many.

OLE’ DICK KATTMANN’S OLD FASHIONED RECIPE
