Judging from instagram 2015 has so far been about stuffing my round little face. Everyday I say I’m going to start the Bon Appetite food lovers cleanse, such an intriguing and persuasive title! But everyday I eat another cookie instead.
I’m terrible with deprivation. I mean like, genuinely terrible not like someone who says they’ve recently cut out wine, gluten and dairy and then proceeds to tell you they are bad at deprivation too.
Deprivation makes me feel trapped and unhappy and those are not vibes I’m trying to take with me into the new year. I’m also not a fan of willing yourself to quit doing something by making a resolution. I do like to keep a list on my desktop of positive suggestions for the coming year entitled “Things To Try.” One of my things to try in 2015 is to invest more in what I put into my body. I want to dedicate more time to cooking healthy nourishing meals at home and shop at farmers markets and Whole Foods for the most part.
In 2015 I’m all about feeling good about myself by playing to my strengths, not chastising myself about my weaknesses.
I think I’m actually pretty good at moderation. I eat one cookie not ten so who cares that I will never have the discipline to be a total vegan?
I also think I’m pretty alright at getting dressed and writing about it so more of that in 2015 too. This outfit reminds me of something a woman would wear on her Hawaiian honeymoon in the 50s and I simply love that these are called bunny shorts.
