I would say that the first week of Summer was a big success. Track shorts and comfort reigned supreme in my world this weekend. I invested in a pair of Birkenstocks which I plan to wear everyday until someone pries them from my cold, dead feet. I think it’s fun to pick one trend that excites you every season and invest in whatever it may be. Nothing excites me more than sandals because I used to be a hippie. Okay I was also pretty excited about Maxi dresses…are we seeing a pattern? I’d probably also be excited if homemade shirts fashioned out of corduroy that tied in the back suddenly appeared on the runway.

Spent Saturday and Sunday in a mostly family fashion. Cooking big dinners for two, taking little Sid to the dog beach and dashing off to a blogger brunch at Herringbone Restaurant at the Mondrian Hotel on Sunday afternoon. Resting was in order before gearing up for fourth of July party time next weekend and the ensuing madness of July and August. #longlivesummer
