The holidays are a time for family but since my family is in Baltimore and Mark’s parents are in Texas we often spend Thanksgiving in Los Angeles as guests.

There is a certain artistry to being a good guest. Be on time, dress appropriately and don’t over do it on the egg nog. If you aren’t sure what the dress code is ask your hostess. I find that a cute dress (not showing too much skin) always does the trick. I’m a fan of the fit and flare style because then I can have second helpings of stuffing.

I feel grateful to be invited into someone’s home for the holidays and I like to put together a basket of goodies for the hostess so she knows it’s appreciated. First I buy a basket and colorful stuffing at a crafts store and then I fill it with wine, tea, some of my favorite granola and a decadent chocolate bar for my hosts to enjoy after all the guests have gone home.

How awesome is this Cross Body Bag?
