I wrote a pretty impassioned speech on Facebook last night endorsing Hilary. I don’t know what came over me except that I’m tired of seeing posts about how “cool” Bernie Sanders is. To me he just looks like this old guy who used to manage my grandparents beach condo in Ocean City, MD and frequently had egg salad on his face but hey, whatever floats your boat. After hearing my dad say that he was “feeling the Bern” I thought it was time to speak up about the candidate I’m endorsing and why. The New York Times also just endorsed Hilary on Saturday. Do you read the New York Times? Yeah they’re a pretty good newspaper I think. Oh wait, they’re like the only newspaper.

I’m with her because she is me. I’m with her because gosh I wish I had a dick. I would screw so many people with it and it would be glorious I’m sure. I have a vagina (spoiler alert.) I don’t get to fuck people. People get to enter me, if I let them, which has it’s own power and I’d like to for once in my life see someone with powers like mine as president.

I’m with her because “Her lifelong fight for women bolsters her credibility in the area of labor law since so many of the problems in this area hit women the hardest including those involving child care, paid sick leave, unstable schedules and low wages for tipped workers.”

I’m with her because I constantly hear sexist, cringe worthy things said out in the open and we all go along with it because they’re just kidding right?

I’m with her because I saw a great movie called Suffragette this year. Carey Mulligan was brilliant in it. It was about women getting the right to vote. It didn’t get nominated for any awards but it’s definitely ground breaking and revolutionary. I don’t remember any other movies on the subject being made in my lifetime but I have seen many, many male actors recreate WW1 and WW2 for me. Obviously my favorite wartime movie is A League Of Their Own.

I’m with her because sexism is a subtle and conniving form of discrimination.

I’m with her because don’t get me wrong I love men, I’ve never even had a lesbian phase but I’m a woman and I know first hand that girls can get things done.

I’m with her because I actually think it is pretty “cool” to have been Senator and Secretary Of State and raise a daughter and be a lawyer and keep a marriage together and write a book. I’m with her because at the end of the day “cool” isn’t even what I look for in politicians. I look for strength, leadership and experience. 

Good luck at the Iowa Caucus tonight Hilary! You are a badass.
